There are more than one reason why I always drop by Bench, a popular store which started to sell clothing in the Philippines in late ’80s but which later ventured out to products such as sweets and toiletries.
First off, I can find my fit in their small sized pants and undergarments
Second, the price of their goods is affordable.
Third, they use paper bags or recyclable plastic bags.
Fourth, they sell almost everything I need: undergarments, shirts, pants, belts, jackets, bags, brushes, hankies, socks, colognes, beauty products, marshmallows and whatnot. Maybe next, they might consider expanding to home and bed furnishings such as pillows, mattresses, blankets ey?
Last but not the least, I like their courteous and helpful store watchers.
The weather today is worthy of one post -however short that may be. Imagine, after more than a week of nonstop (so true!) rain (exactly nine days!), today is a very welcome change. And who would have thought that today would turn out so sunny since just early this morning, it’s been raining and really gloomy like the previous days.
But it’s so wonderful to feel the warmth of the sun again, and sweat naturally because of this. It’s definitely so wonderful to finally see some light. And so wonderful to finally tackle the laundry because you know in a few hours they’ll all be dry. Thank you Lord.
And thank you too for our trusted steam cleaner.
Every day is a really an opportunity to learn and discover new things. Like today, I learned about little things called appetite suppressants. When I first read it, I went like “Is there really such a thing?” because it’s my first time to have encoountered such a product. I mean, I know of weight loss products but not appetite suppressants, although as an afterthought, maybe some weight loss products contains properties that could taper the appetite but I had no idea. Until now.
It’s raining elephants ’round here (the weather’s been dreary for the past 4 days already you gotta keep your breeches and save for later when the sun shines). And in times like this, for me, nothing beats a steaming mug of hot chocolate and a serving of suman (a popular rice cake in the Philippines; see more of its description here). Just yum-o! But that’s just for starters.
For lunch and dinner , I want something hot and spicy. I don’t have anything specific in mind just that it’s hot and spicy. Actually, for all I care, you can give me anything - as in anything under the rainy skies - but couple it with a bottle of Tabasco. *smiles*
Remember that small bottle that gives all the zing I could want in my food? It’s hot and spicy and it’s all I ever need to give a bang to my system in a dreary weather like today. So there, give me anything and with a dash of Tabasco Red Chili Sauce, I’ll surely eat it like it’s first class gourmet dish.
November 17th, 2009Tsk. Tsk.
I chanced on a vegas hotel reservation online when I remembered the party my son had last weekend.
My son had his birthday party in Jollibee Limketkai and though it was a fun party, I feel dissatisfied with the service of the crew there. They were just teeny weeny slow for me - at least during the party and I had to remind myself to stay calm (even as I was already irritated). And just when I needed a crew, I couldn’t find anyone to serve one of our guests. *sigh*
It was our first party with a Jollibee branch and if not for the fact that McDo was booked on the day that we wanted to have the party, we wouldn’t have arranged a party there.
And if memory serves me right, I know our experience with McDo last year was so much better. I didn’t need to tell them to serve so and so because the crew were pretty efficient.
Now I wouldn’t want to make conclusions as to Jollibee’s services but I hope there wouldn’t be a repeat of this experience.
This post intends to give a prop up, a thumbs up to someone who has been so good to me. I cannot name you here, (and I’m sure you would like to keep things private) but thanks for the online work you always give me every now and then. I appreciate it.
Given that online opportunitities are rare to come by these days, I was surprised when I got an email from you last weekend. It inquired if I was interested to do an online work about jewelry (not really the Couture Jewelry kind). And being a girl who loves jewelry of any kind, how can I say no? =D
But ah yes, thanks for that opportunity Madame.
I was checking some designs of bar faucets, when I suddenly remembered to check my bank account through the internet. I made some transaction last week and although I wasn’t expecting instant deposit, I sure hoped that money will be credit earlier than the promised date of credit, which is still a couple of days away. But sweet surprise it was when I found out that it’s all in. Yup, all in!
And so goes the reason of this post: I have to give Paypal due credit for the fast transfer of funds. Actually, with a turn-around-time of almost 2 business days, this has been the quickest transfer so far (I have made more than five withdrawals in the past). So thanks Paypal! It’s one of the best online payment solutions today -well, for me, it ranks second after Smartmoney.
November 8th, 2009TV Talk
I was looking at some photos of my friends/relatives posted in Facebook, when I came by a photo of Bravia LCD TVs lining up one wall of an electronic shop. Hmmm. Me so transfixed looking at them. And I have to admit that I would love to have one, too. Now, if only budget is not an issue. *smiles* But one day soon. God willing.
Now more about TVs, I didn’t know anything about bell tvs until now. I really do not know they exist! I know Bell Telecoms but TVs, na-ah. Haaaaay, as a friend once said, every day is a learning experience.
I was checking some of my old posts today when I noticed that I failed to include a photo of a Kumon workbook I reviewed previously. So here it is:

Finally I can see my site! I had trouble viewing it and logging into my account this afternoon. I didn’t have any idea why or how long it’s been like that but I’d been getting error messages everytime I tried accessing it. It’s the first time that it went offline for more than a couple of minutes.
Actually, this is not the only site affected. Apart from this one, I have two others which I also couldn’t view and log in to this afternoon. Since all of these have the same webhost, I thought that maybe it’s one of those server maintenance thing or that there’s a data center hosting prob.
But whatever happened, I’m just glad unpaidreviews.com is back on the air -and the two others, too. I still think highly of my webhost
