April 30th, 2010Voting 101

First of all, allow me to interrupt my regular programming with this public service. :-)  Yay, that sounds so  uhmmm…profound. So “deep.” Lol. But really, like everyone else, I hope for an orderly and peaceful election on May 10 and so with this little post, I hope I can contribute to that goal.

Second, this is just a report from my other blogs.

Third, thanks to Inquirer.net for this material.

Note: Image can be enlarged.

1) Check for your precinct location, number at school or voting center day before the election.

2) At precinct, give your name to the BEI member to be checked on the voters’ list. If you are registered, BEI chairman checks your right forefinger for indelible ink mark. If there is none, sign your name on EDCVL. BEI chair authenticates your ballot by signing on the designated space.

3) Get (a) instruction on how to vote (b) Secrecy Folder with ballot inside and (c) marking pen from the BEI chair.

4) Using the secrecy folder and pen, fill in ballot bu FULLY shading oval beside each candidate’s name and party list of your choice.

DO NOT over vote.
DO NOT write stray markings on the ballot.
DO NOT fold the ballot.

5) Insert the ballot into the PCOS machine slot and wait until the ballot is dropped into the ballot box. BEI checks if PCOS machine confirms acceptance.

6) If ballot is rejected, re-insert ballot into the machine. But if rejected again, BEI chair marks the ballot as “rejected” and places it in an envelope for rejected ballots. (You will not receive another ballot)

7) Return Secrecy Folder and marking pen to the BEI chair.

8) Allow the BEI chair to apply indelible ink from base to cuticle of your right forefinger.

9) Affix your thumbmark on the corresponding space in the voters’ list, then leave the precinct.

April 28th, 2010So Green

I opened my Facebook today and tried to catch up with the news among my circle of friends and relatives.

One is getting engaged soon. Another is off for a free trip abroad (yup all expenses will be paid courtesy of a sponsor-how cool is that!). And more than a couple posted tons of photos taken during their vacations. And then there was one shout-out that says she’s still up and about packing for a vacation.  A vacation? Really everyone is going for a vacation! Or have been to one. Wooooow! Am so envious.

It’s really the time of the year to get away and chill out. But not for me. =( Not this time. Sure, I’ve read about Branson vacation packages, some tours and other packages but that’s that. Maybe sometime this year but definitely not before my baby is born.

It’s late at night and I’m making a list. It’s not the usual what-to-dos or my grocery list but it’s a shopping list of sorts. An online shopping list, I should say. And a quite expensive one because there’s pretty much in the list already, I might add. And I’m still adding more to the list — haaay, a pro/con of online shopping is that you can never really get too tired with just your fingers doing the walking, ey? =) No more getting dressed, no more brochure printing (oh maybe sometimes there is), no more queuing… Yup, so convenient that sometimes, you can easily be tempted to buy more.

But what can I do? I know I need these things. And the coming baby would need these things too, as  the list actually consists of mommy-baby essentials. Now I have to decide when to click checkout.

April 21st, 2010Anywhere We Go

Photobucket This shot was taken in our hotel room during one of our latest family excursions (just in a nearby beach resort).

I got to bring it because I like to use it at night when I want to relax some muscles. The Indigobaby Jar of Love is actually a constant companion, it a permanent resident in my bag. I bring it to the office, to the beach… anywhere!

And do you know that I so love its gentle minty scent that I have developed this crazy habit of massaging it on my temples at night just to have a whiff of it? =) It’s actually soothing to me.

Would it tell you anything if I say that among the Ilog Maria products I ordered online, it is the first to get depleted?

Oh before you go and read about Mesothelioma, pretty please hear me first. Oh, read  -yeah, read this first please.

Believe me. I am telling the truth there. The Ilog Maria Honey Cider Vinegar  is indeed the first product that we consumed!

First, because my family loves to use it as seasoning for salads. And I am telling everyone, we are big salad eaters. Mostly greens. But yes,  cucumber, okra, camote tops…it’s perfect! The sweet and sour flavor of the Ilog Maria Honey Cider Vinegar  is absolutely just right for our taste buds. Oh when I think again, it’s actually more than right, it makes salads taste great. So great you will not be able to stop yourself. =)

Second, we also use it for our dips. So smackingly good, I should say. And makes the dip have more zing to it.

The honey cider vinegar is also recommended to be used as detoxifier but we haven’t used it like so.

April 19th, 2010Scratching My Head

Haaay, I still don’t know what’s wrong with my PC. It’s really such a hassle since the softwares that I always use for some online work are installed in that PC.

For the meantime, I’m using the netbook my husband gave me last December. But I can only use it mostly for surfing the Internet. Oh God help me, I really need my PC. And I need it alive and kicking!

April 18th, 2010Ilog Maria Virgin Honey

Photobucket Remember this photo I posted before? It’s the Ilog Maria poducts which I ordered a month or so ago.

I’m showing this again because I’m showing you the reason why I first got interested with the Ilog Maria products. Any guess? =)

It’s really not too difficult but if you’re not up to any guessing game, I’ll give the reason straight. It’s the honey. Yes, it’s because of their Virgin Honey. You see, my family has been using honey for many reasons/applications (some of that can be read here and for those interested, I’ll also include some honey articles in the bottom of this post). Our supply then was almost depleted and since my brother who’s been supplying us couldn’t send us some ASAP, this prompted me to try looking for a source online. And so there I found the Ilog Maria site and the rest is history. =)

So how do we find the Ilog Maria Virgin Honey? I can very well say that it is pure. And like all pure honey, it tastes great (maybe this is already an acquired taste =) .) The only thing is, at Php330 per 450-gram bottle, I think it is quite expensive compared to the local produce I get here (but which is very seasonal and rare). Apart from that, I am quite satisfied with this product from Ilog Maria. BTW, their Virgin Honey is strictly rationed and is limited to 1 order per customer.

Oh wait, before I give you the honey links, please check www.bestdietsupplements.org. Okay, for more info about Honey, please visit the ff: Wiki, Verb, MotherEarthNews; Life Positive; Billy Bee; and Food Reference.

April 17th, 2010Ilog Maria Throat Spray

Photobucket Before anything else, i.e alli weight loss,etc.., my apologies for those people who have been waiting for me to start my Ilog Maria product reviews. Please be assured that I have not forgotten this but I have only given it some time to fully test the effectivity of the products I’ll be reviewing. =)

Anyway, I have decided it’s already time to write my reviews about some of the bee products. To start off, I’ll do a little post about the Ilog Maria Propolis Throat Spray, a natural spray which I have tested on on those times I had sore and itchy throat.

Its label says the Ilog Maria Propolis Throat Spray is anti-viral, anti-bacterial and antioxidant. It freshens breath, keeps gum healthy, eases smoker’s cough and relieves sore throat.

Direction for use: spray on tonsils at first sign of itchiness. Two squirts is enough.

My one word: effective. As directed, I have used it at the early sign of colds, two squirts in the morning and another in the evening and I have proven how effective it is. After two days, itch and sore is gone. Moreover, it doesn’t have any “alcohol feel” to it nor does it sting. Given all that, I also recommended this one for my sister to use whenever she gets sore throat.

My rating: 5.

April 16th, 2010Pigeon 2-Way Cake

I was in the toystore with my son yesterday (to give him his well-deserved reward) and while in the counter, I spotted stacks of blue Pigeon boxes near the counter. Inquiring, I found out the boxes contain  a two-way cake (yup very much like the Maybelline Two-Way Foundation which you can use either with a wet or dry sponge).

Since I am a huge fan for Pigeon baby products (I actually trust Pigeon for most of my baby’s needs), it didn’t take much to convince myself to try one. There are only two variants available (Fair Yellow and Warm Beige) in the store so I opted to try the Warm Beige.

Short of the story, I bought one and tried it as soon as I got home. And I was hugely disappointed. :-( First and foremost, I don’t like its smell (and that’s not negotiable!). It has the kind of smell that bothers me and sometimes give me headache (yup, so hand me a natural migraine relief, please). It’s the kind of smell that I could detect in some cosmetic products.  Second, it didn’t seem any effect on my skin. I mean I couldn’t see any difference with it on. Unlike the Maybelline Two-Way Foundation, it didn’t me give me the finish that I expected so I’m quite sad that I invested my Php300 on it. :-(

So there, I’m still for the Maybelline Two-Way Foundation.

April 15th, 2010Oh Bummer

I still haven’t figured out the problem of my PC. It surely is not the softwares or spywares (since there’s none of this) that’s causing the problem. Wonder what could it be. Tsk.Tsk.

I’m still checking on the RAM but my husband told me it could be the motherboard. Whatever it is, I wanted it resolved as soon as possible since I have lots of work to do and lots of photos to process. *sigh*
