April 14th, 2010Strip Tease Test

Being my sister’s restday today, we decided to fully test the Strip Tease cold wax which she recently purchased. Actually she decided to take care of the hairs before she face another challenge: losing weight (with or without diet pills).

I have reread the literature that came with it and like I said before it is made of  organic ingredients, namely honey and sugar. So this explains the  very faint, yummy caramel scent to it that made me want to lick it (but of course I didn’t!). Also, when we opened the jar, some little ants came camped on its sides as proof that it is sugar-based. ;-)

Since the lit Idirection) didn’t mention the time element before we can do the removal, we did few trials before figuring out that we need not wait for a minute before doing the stripping. Also, an ample amount needs to be applied on the hair so it will come off easily.

Sticky but non-irritating, this cold wax does its job well (despite my earlier doubt). There were few hairs that were not removed from my sister’s (and mine as well), maybe due to length, but I should say it removed 95% of the hair from our armpits. Strip Tease cold wax works well on the legs though.

My rate: 3.8

April 13th, 2010Windows Defender

Something’s wrong with my PC. It keeps on crashing while doing some tasks. As of this writing,  I still don’t know what’s the matter with it but I’m still checking and troubleshooting the HW and some of its components.

Now, while  in the process of isolating my PC’s problem, I found a valuable software fro Microsoft. Maybe some of you are using this already, or heard about it. But in case you’re still looking for some protection against spyware, pop-ups and PC performance slowdown, here’s Windows Defender for you.

Windows Defender is software that helps protect your computer against pop-ups, slow performance, and security threats caused by spyware and other unwanted software by detecting and removing known spyware from your computer. Windows Defender features Real-Time Protection, a monitoring system that recommends actions against spyware when it’s detected, minimizes interruptions, and helps you stay productive.

If you’re interested to download it, you can do so here.

April 12th, 2010For Your Opinion

To those who wear designer ties, please take time to visit the link. I know this might be asking too much from you, but I would appreciate it if you could come back and leave me a comment regarding those ties.  I would really love to hear what you think of them as I’m not too good at choosing ties. I actually have no practice when it comes to shopping for ties because the Mister doesn’t wear them. Infact, I don’t even remember a time when I saw my husband wearing a necktie. :-)

So if you have any experience or any advice or any comment to make, I would value it a lot.

While looking at outdoor décor , I remembered to thank Indigomanila for this little outdoor buddy we trust to care for my son (and us, as well), the Shoo Fly Don’t Bother Me insect repellent.

I’m really, really glad that I found this product (and more products from Indigobaby) after trying out the Chicco No Zanza Gel, which is a torture to my olfactory gland. The Shoo Fly smells a bit like The Chicco No Zanza Gel, only that it’s much much milder and that its scent thankfully wears off easily.

Made from Aloe Vera gel, Witch Hazel, Grapeseed Oil, distilled water, and essential oils of Lavender, Rose, Geranium, Citronella and Eucalyptus, the Shoo Fly Don’t Bother Me insect repellent is highly effective since I noticed that there really are no insect bites on my son’s skin when I apply this on him, even after a day of exposure. Like other Indigobaby products, it is also gentle on skin and it is very safe as it is 100% natural.

April 9th, 2010Milk Talks

For my son, it’s Pediasure Plus in Vanilla flavor. It’s a bit expensive but then I trust this milk to give him complete nutrition. For other details about this milk, check it out here.

For my father, he believes Anlene Gold (51+ Years) best supplies him his nutritional needs. And it’s the chocolate flavor for him.

For my mother, she loves to drink Sustagen Premium in Vanilla flavor. We bought her the chocolate flavor once but she prefers the vanilla flavor more.

Hands down, the Slumber Spell Bath Salt is one of my favorite Indigobaby products. It is made with Deadsea salt, Epsom Salt and Lavender pure  essential oil.

Maybe because of the Lavender oil, I must say that it has a calming scent to it. Actually, the bath salts smell like the rooms in the spa that I frequently visit (when not pregnant, of course!). So this one is really perfect for evening baths when all you wanted to do is relax and drift to peaceful sleep afterwards.Photobucket

Because it is 100% natural, it is safe to be used in baby’s bath. I am not sure with infants though but I use this on my 4-year old son’s bath. Actually, we share the 300-gram jar I bought. Yup, pregnant me feels safe to use it. Infact, I sometimes use it as a scrub, too (along with the Squeaky Clean Body Wash).

Before I scoot and read about wrinkle cream reviews, lemme rate this product. Again with scale 1 to 5, with the latterl being the highest, I’d rate it a 5. Actually I could rate it more than a 5 -even if that’s already the highest! I just simply love it.

April 7th, 2010Bro is coming back

I was checking these jobs in Philadelphia when  I was reminded that my younger brother is coming back home after more than a month stay in Vietnam. It’s not his first time there because his fiancee is a Vietnamese.  But this time, he wished to saty for long to look for a job there and so he can be with his fiancee.

But it looks like Fate won’t have any of that. After almost two months of job hunting, he still has not landed a job. So he’s decided to maintain a long-distance affair, come back home  and see what opportunity he can find here, or from here.  Goodluck to him.

April 6th, 2010Yakult Probiotics

Photobucket From Wikipedia, Yakult (????, Yakuruto?) is a Japanese probiotic milk-like product made by fermenting a mixture of skimmed milk with a special strain of the bacterium Lactobacillus casei Shirota.

In their official website, here’s the history of how this product came about and marketed.

So why is this my subject of the day? It’s because my son loooooves it. So much so that we have to hide our supply (actually, it’s his supply) so he will not consume all of them. ;-) I am not kidding. There was one time when he finished a pack (and was still wanting some more) in just one sitting! Usually, I buy 3 to 4 packs per week, with each pack containing 5 bottles just for my son. Oh but sometimes, he shares some to us. God bless his heart. But mostly, he can consume it all without our help.

When we were kids, my parents used to buy this for us. They said it contains live, friendly bacteria (probiotics) that are good for the tummy and the immune system. We don’t care about all that info before but we all loved it - actually, we still love it up to now! All we cared was its taste. I loved its taste before as much as my son loves it now. :-)

Now as a parent, I have a fair understanding about this probiotics thingy and so rather than buying other drinks for my son, I give him Yakult instead. I also feel this is safe for him because it is gluten-free.

April 5th, 2010Anmum Materna

And because I am pregnant, I’m going to show everyone something I love to drink –yep before these office furniture make me forget!

PhotobucketActually, it’s one reason I love being pregnant. *laughs* I could drink more than 2 cups of this but of course, I had to stop myself.

It comes in two flavors: chocolate and vanilla. Although I also love the vanilla milk taste, it’s  the chocolate flavor that I always buy. Can’t just resist chocolate, ey? :-)

April 4th, 2010Happy Easter

Happy Easter everyone!

It’s also my cousin’s birthday today so we’re off to their place in the afternoon for a little feast. So excited to have a taste of roasted pig again. Yum!
