So my daughter celebrated her very first birthday last Sunday. It’s a happy event (although my daughter seem to not like seeing unfamiliar people and was crying); nevertheless, it’s good to see our friends and relatives who joined us that day.
Anyway, I just wanted to say how much I love her cake—it’s from Goldilocks. Looks nice ey?

This was not the design we first chose (it was unavailable), but I like the finish product. And I love the yummy moist chocolate cake under the layer of icing. I have to say that this cake is worth every penny that I paid for.
If there’s one book seriesfor the kids that I love to collect, it would be the I SPY books. They are totally educational and fun. It just too bad that the local bookstore doesn’t usually have stocks of these books.
The first I SPY books (see picture below) I purchased were ordered online.

Let’s flip the pages to see why I love them. See?

Nice huh? Very very nice I think and attractive to the kids too. Great to enhance the kids’ visual discrimination. Actually, the books come by stages. So for pre-schoolers, they have titles that are suitable for the age group. There are also titles for kids who are starting to read and then those who can already read.
Sixty-plus-plus years ago, a couple of birth announcements happened. It’s for my mother and my father. As I understand, unlike these days, there were no baby showers or big parties for something like this then. But I’m sure there’s a celebration of sort then, though the way of celebration may not the same.
Anyway, speaking of celebration, there’s a lot of that this month. There’s just many reasons why we need to celebrate - in our small little ways.
I’m seeing a lot of cute Busha pants for kids for sale online. I’d love to buy because I saw a seller selling it for a very reasonable price. My only problem is from the cute designs, I couldn’t just choose a single or couple of pants because I’m attracted to more than 4 designs. Haaaay, what to do.
I’ve been to the grocery the other day and I added 2 more variants of Cerelac in my baby’s list of dry cereal. These are: Banana and Wheat and the MIxed Vegetable and Soya. I have not tried giving these to my daughter but I hope she’ll like it. I have a feeling she will like it.
I’m very much for organic and homemade food and so much more for my baby (babies). If I have the time, I’ll just give my baby all organic and homemade food. Sadly, I have also other things to attend to so I sometimes give her cereals available in the market. Actually, this cereal produc has long been available in the market. Come to think of it, when we were young, we also ate this one.
CERELAC by Nestle. I bought Soya and Milk in the grocery and have dear daughter try eat. Guess what, she love it so much. I also bought Brown Rice and Milk variant and she also like it. Surprising for me, because unlike my daughter, my firstborn didn’t have the appetite for Cerelac in his time. I really wonder. Now should I ask why from the expert? Peeps holding medical jobs, any idea? Hah, there’s really no accounting for taste. Though it’s really not an issue, maybe in our next pedia visit, I’m gonna ask her doctor.
It’s not so hectic today so I decided to search for noteworthy ipod touch apps that could be useful for my kids. And lucky me, fewmoments ago, I found a couple of free apps that sound interesting (and may be great tools for learning).
One was referred by this page; it’s Model Me Going Places™ from the Model Me Kids DVD Series.
The other one is the abc PocketPhonics Lite: letter sounds & writing + first words.
I’m already done downloading the latter, but for the life of me, I have been trying to download the Model Me sampler to no avail. Gotta ask for help from the hubster now. *sigh*
BTW, if you want to browse educational apps for your ipod/iPad/iphone, please see this page.
I’ve been searching for ways to help my son learn the mechanics of writing. He’s actually doing better now but his writing needs a lot of improvement.
And I count myslef blessed to have found a site that recommended the TVTeacher DVDs. It uses a multi-sensory approach that helps kids learn writing the alphabets faster. It a bit expensive but I got to say that it’s all worth it. My son loves it a lot and almost always demands to do more.
Unfortunately I don’t have a photo of the DVDs but when I get the time, I’ll post one.
I know I keep on repeating this but the internet is really a mine! You see, I encountered the Peg Perego name today and I totally have no idea what or who that is.
Few clicks later, I got my answer. *smile* And boy, I wouldn’t like my son to see all these toys as I know he’d instantly fall inlove with them. Whaddya know, I fell inlove myself. Cool wheelies. If I have my way (and the resources to pay for one), I’d surely order one for my son as Christmas present. *sigh* But finances are tight these days, so maybe I’ll just pray (everyday!) to Santa Claus to deliver one at home on Christmas. Wish, wish.
Tsk. tsk. That’s what I am.
Maybe I’m just too preoccupied with some things that’s why I keep on forgetting about little things that are important too. For example, I forgot to have my daughter’s ears pierced during our recent visit to the doctor. Then, I forgot to get her a cake on her baptism. Recently, I forgot a couple of my friends birthdays. Shucks, what a disaster. Now I owe this people a lot of peace offerings. I might need to buy wholesale jewelry for present.
Haay. At the rate I’m going, I guess I should be taking Memo Plus Gold na. Have you tried it?
