July 5th, 2010To Clean My Hands And…

I reckon it’s no use turning the house upside down just to look for this one. So the last time I went to the mall, I made sure to drop by a Bench outlet to pick up a new sanitizer. I didn’t get the same sanitizer though (but I got the blue version for my son).

For myself, I got this instead. Photobucket

Love its scent. I bet even the smell of cigars on the hands can be eliminated with it.

Actually, I chose this Bratsplash Raspberry Crush Instant Hand Sanitizer with Moisturizing Aloe because this one matches the scent I’m currently using, the Bratsplash Raspberry Crush Body Spray.

June 30th, 2010ALO Aloe Vera Drink

After my brother (who used to work in Korea) introduced us to Aloe Vera drinks, I have to admit that I’m kinda hooked on them. Just love its taste. Before finding out a locally made aloe vera drink, I usually buy the imported ones from Korea.

Now, I’m buying these.

Photobucket

It is has a mango taste to it but like the Korean brands I used to buy, it has aloe vera bits too. This Alo Aloe Vera drink, containing Collagen, L-carnitine and Vitamin E, boasts of helping in keeping the skin healthy and youthful. But at the moment, I still cannot say anything about that though I’m aware Collagen and Vitamin E are great for the skin. L-Carnitine, they also say, helps burn fat so maybe this would be great for those trying to trim down their bodies. So we’ll see. :-)

Okay gotta scoot now and read some Clinicallix reviews. I know I’ll surely be a learning a thing or two about losing weight, although I still cannot do that at the moment.

May 27th, 2010Aaaargh!

How would you feel when the resto where you’ve just eaten your lunch/dinner has no comfort room?  Is it okay with you? Or would you feel pissed?

Normally, I would be okay with this AS LONG as there’s a comfort room nearby. But if there is none, then that doesn’t seem right, ayt? But I’ll still have a little tolerance –in some cases.

But yesterday, I was so pissed when I found out that Mang Inasal-SM CDO has no CR within its premises. Given that: I  am pregnant and I can barely hold some water in the bladder; I have just eaten a full meal along with a big drink(!); and then,  I couldn’t walk as fast as my brain can think, can you even imagine how mortified I was just knowing they have no CR in there?  The walk to the mall CR was really a big inconvenience!

Sigh, sigh. Okay, enough of this verbal diarrhea, I better check some car insurance companies now. And oh before I forget, I do love eating at Mang Inasal. Their chicken are simply roasted to heavenly goodness!

May 15th, 2010Go Yoga

Photobucket I’m honestly itching to ride the treadmill or elliptical again.  Or to indulge in some sort of exercise other than walking. I miss going to the gym and sweat it out like crazy. Lol. But because I cannot do so at the moment, let me just get the most out of yoga. Yup, yoga. I love Yoga!

But since I have an erratic shifting work schedule and cannot attend a real Yoga class although I’d love to, I’m happy I found a Yoga CD to help me with the exercise. Found the Yoga Zone Posture for Pregnancy five years ago, in one of my mall trips and I couldn’t be more glad.

Specially designed for pregnant women, the CD teaches about stretching exercises that can easily be done. It also includes valuable postures that can be helpful in alleviating back aches which preggy moms frequently experience as well as postures and breathing exercises that are useful during labor.

I have been using this CD since my first pregnancy and I can safely say it has helped me a lot during my labor with my firstborn. With it and with God’s help, I am  hopeful that the exercises I’ve learned from this Yoga CD will also help me get through my second delivery easily and safely.

May 14th, 2010Ilog Maria Sting-less

If my son has his Shoo Fly Don’t Bother Me to protect him from those pesky mosquitoes and insects, Mom also has her bug shield in the form of Ilog Maria Sting-less, a Citronella based mosquito repellent with Propolis.

On the label it says that Sting-less, being made from natural plant and fruit oils,  ”safely repels mosquitoes and other insects.” And indeed, from my experience, it does effectively protect me from those bothersome mosquitoes and maybe unseen bugs.

Like my son’s Shoo Fly, which I also use at times, or like most natural repellent for that matter,  this product has the Citronella scent but only much stronger than the Shoo Fly. Even then, it is something I cannot not tolerate.

Direction for use (according to label): Apply on clothing and less sensitive areas of the skin.

Photobucket Of all the bee products from IlogMaria that I’ve tried, I have to honestly admit that the Propolis Toothpowder is the one product that I don’t like –AT FIRST! Although its not too strong, I don’t like it’s smell when it reaches my mouth (which til now I couldn’t put a name to). Its light brown-grayish powder color is also far from appealing. Most of all, I hated its bitter, crushed-medicine taste. It really tasted horrible at first, that I toyed with the idea of just throwing it away or letting it join my son’s old toys in “our unused things” cabinet.

But reading it’s label, I decided to give it some more tries, which eventually made me realize one important thing: the Ilog Maria Propolis Toothpowder is making my teeth squeaky clean faster than any other toothpaste! No kidding, that was my experience. And I have used it everytime I brush my teeth since then. I have also slowly “forgotten” how horrible it tastes like; really, it’s just a matter of getting used to it (and most of us are so used to flavored toothpaste commercially available).

So after using this product for three months, I can earnestly say I’m satisfied with its performance. It’s natural, it’s effective, it quickly buffs my teeth and keeps my mouth healthy. It’s also economical and affordable. Really suits all my needs! Thank you IlogMaria (and expect me to order more bottles of the toothpowder!).

Ingredients:

Propolis - fights bacteria, viruses and fungi
Calcium powder- gently scrubs your teeth and gums while providing needed Calcium
Baking soda- neutralizes mouth acids
Mint oils- to give you that day-long fresh feeling

Direction for use: Wet toothbrush. Dip into powder. Brush.

April 21st, 2010Anywhere We Go

Photobucket This shot was taken in our hotel room during one of our latest family excursions (just in a nearby beach resort).

I got to bring it because I like to use it at night when I want to relax some muscles. The Indigobaby Jar of Love is actually a constant companion, it a permanent resident in my bag. I bring it to the office, to the beach… anywhere!

And do you know that I so love its gentle minty scent that I have developed this crazy habit of massaging it on my temples at night just to have a whiff of it? =) It’s actually soothing to me.

April 5th, 2010Anmum Materna

And because I am pregnant, I’m going to show everyone something I love to drink –yep before these office furniture make me forget!

PhotobucketActually, it’s one reason I love being pregnant. *laughs* I could drink more than 2 cups of this but of course, I had to stop myself.

It comes in two flavors: chocolate and vanilla. Although I also love the vanilla milk taste, it’s  the chocolate flavor that I always buy. Can’t just resist chocolate, ey? :-)

I have been using this foundation/powder for quite sometime and I reckon so why won’t I review it. So before I check life insurance online quote, lemme do this now.

Actually, this has been my only foundation/powder eversince the-world-began. Lol. But seriously, I am its loyal user. I only stopped using it (or any commercial beauty products in that case) when I got pregnant.

So you know what the tenor of this review is going to be, judging the time that I have been patronizing this product. And right, I like it.

I like that it is not sticky nor thick. Also because it makes my face look smoother. And then most of all, it doesn’t have the smell of  “chemicals.” I also like it because I can apply it like a foundation (with wet sponge) or just like a plain pressed powder (dry sponge).

BTW, according to its label, this product is specially formulated for Asian skins so that must explain why it blends well with my skin tone/type.It is also oil-free and hypoallergenic.

I never really  use sprays in the room apart from Lysol from time to time. But I have already stopped using that in our room since I-can-longer-remember-when. Twas a long time, really. I do use insect spray once in a blue moon (when it’s really necessary) but I do so with so much caution.

Now in one of my internet shopping days, I  found a  spray that intrigued me. Because it is 100% natural, it can be safely used on infant rooms, they said. So I thought, okay I have to try it.

Long story short, now I’ve already tried it and I like it a lot. It indeed smells good, although I must say that the first spray smells much like a herbal medicine stuff. :-)  After a sec or two, the smell just turns into a mild  refreshing scent. It doesn’t stick to your linens and bed for long but I’m all OK with that since I won’t be able to stand if its smell-or any fragrance on that matter- would linger long.  I cannot say much on its lulling effect though because I am always an easy sleeper (I sleep anytime and anywhere if I need to) and I don’t need anything to lull me to sleep.

Ingredients (label) : Foodgrade alcohol, purified water, Lavender and Chamomile essential oil

This can also be used as a hand sanitizer, toy cleanser, yoga mat spray or even as a mild cologne (yeah, I used it like a cologne too)!

Before I check some fish food, I’d give my rate for Indigo Sleepyhead Room and Linen Spray. In a scale of 1 to 5, with 5 being the highest, I’d rate it a 4!
