July 9th, 2011Events, flowers…

Many events this month! I’m already excited next week when my husband comes home and my daughter will celebrate her first birthday. It will be a special time for my family not just because of the mentioned event but because this will be the time when we’ll all be together before I make the ” big move.” I’m getting a bit emo mentioning that. But hey, I have to look at the bright side of the future and will have to keep on praying for our wishes and plans to be realized.

Oh by the way, my sister (who is in Brazil) will also be celebrating her birthday a day before my daughter does. So advance happy birthday sis. To my bro-inlaw, here’s a tip: buy some flowers for your sweetie because I know she’ll love it. Oh well who wouldn’t? I totally love receiving flowers anytime, anywhere (Paging dear husband! Lol). Really, I think most women would love to get flowers from their partners any day –so paging to all men out there. *smiles*

March 14th, 2011Weeeee.

Ohhhh… reading the last two posts I published, I somehow feel guilty.  So guilty for not saying what I should have included in one of my latest post (I’ve said it to him personally though and I think that matters more but I just feel guilty for not even saying a little thanks “to him” online).

Gentle warning to readers: leave now if you don’t wanna read a cheesy post. :-)

So anyway… thank you Honey for everything. I love that we spent our 7th wedding anniversary together (with the family).  Thanks for giving me a million and one reasons to be happy. I know you would have bought me stuff —jewelries, watches, perfumes, even renuvie etc… had I asked them from you but that’s not really too important to me. What matters is we’re together and that you’re giving me and the family what we need  most— love and security. I so love you. Cheers to more years of togetherness!

There, there. I said it. Heheh

March 3rd, 2011On to Bathroom Makeover

I didn’t notice it but I have been browsing bath vanity accessories for more than an hour already! Imagine. Didn’t realize it. You see I am planning to do a make-over of our bathroom. I’ve already visited few home improvement stores but have not bought stuff yet with my brother’s advice. He told me the last time we went to CitiHardware that we’ll buy the glass and stuff after considering the design and all. I acknowledge the wisdom in these too. That’s why today, I’ve been looking at designs and ideas and I didn’t realize so much time has passed already. Now off to listing stuffs.

January 31st, 2011Name Your Lock

How about some name game.

Schlage. Kwikset. Omnia. Weslock.

What do these names call to mind? Locks? What locks?  I can hear someone yelling, door locks. *smiles*

Yeah right, Sir! These are popular door lock brands and I’m sure most door hardware would carry these items on their rack.

Our doors carry Schlage and Yale names. No complaints. We’ve trusted them for years.

Now what does your doors have?

January 7th, 2011Me Likey This

I was browsing lovely cookware and bakeware by Le Creuset and I can’t help but wish for a magic lamp with a genie in it to grant me my wish for these nice kitchenwares. I don’t claim to be the cooking expert or a hardworking kitchen slave but oh how I wish… They would be great for the pasta I usually make.

PhotobucketI also spotted a 14-Cup Food Processor by Cuisinart and my mind started racing on the many things I could make out of this food processor. It certainly made me miss my old and retired Philips food processor. Oh where, oh where are you genie? Hayyyz…

December 15th, 2010Weee, here comes the holidays

Oh yeah! I’ve reviewed my work schedule in the next few days and I’m surprised to see that I have four days off from work. Hallelujiah! Am really so thrilled with this prospect since I needed to spend quality time with the family, esp the kids.

The there are lots of things to attend to at home, too. Need to do general cleaning–in and out of the house. The plants and some of our flowering trees need trimming. Our little “farm” also need some “make-over.” I’d love to install a swing and set-up a play area for the kids there. Lots to do and the four days off are just what I need. :-)

December 8th, 2010Happy Birthday Bro!

Yay! It’s my younger brother’s birthday and I’m so happy that he could come home even for just a short while.  He and his finacee are joining us tonight at dinnertime (and they’d  go back to his workbase, which is a little more than an hour away from home, early tomorrow).

So to bro, since I won’t be able to give you all the material things you might want i.e. a new car, an iPhone, an iPad and home speakers to boot, etc… however much I wanted, here’s just my wish for you: May God bless you in all the days of your life. May you always have happiness and peace within you. Wishing you all the best in Life!

October 20th, 2010How To Talk So Kids Can Learn

On my bedside table today is a book entitled How To Talk So Kids Can Learn (At Home and in School) by Adele Faber and Elaine Mazlish. I picked it up a few days back from our local bookstore and it was one of those spur-of-the-moment purchases but boy, I couldn’t be happier for buying it.

In this book, the experts on parent-child communication share ways for parents and teachers to motivate kids to learn, be more cooperative and thus, succeed in school. Really a wonderful book. Reading it, I feel the urge to buy some copies to send as presents to my friends (who are already parents/teachers). I believe this is a must-have for parents and teachers alike. In many ways, it’s a lifesaver for me –actually, more like an “emergency assistance” with respect o my son– and to think I have not finished reading the entire book. :-)

For parents/teachers reading this post, please add this in your book list. You will never regret buying it. Promise.

October 12th, 2010Shoe Organizer

Maybe you’ve seen this already or maybe not. Either way, let me just say that I think this space-saving shoe organizer is a great product.

Photobucket

It is very ideal for people who are only renting a room or unit or those who no longer has spaces for a shoe rack or cabinet. If not in use, this organizer can be tucked easily. It may also be used to hold belts, accessories or some trinkets.

January 8th, 2010All For Glass

I just bought a set of Visions cookware, which we have already started using at home, and it seems like they are really made of high quality materials just like what the reviews of the product which I’ve read online said.

I still couldn’t make a conclusion though since I’ve just used the product in barely a month. But initially I can say I’m quite satisfied with the pots. I love cooking in transparent pots! Also, the set I got comes with  plastic covers for the pots aside from their Pyrex lids so I can safely store some food and put them in the fridge.

So glass, check. Now I’ll see some stainless steel drums and see what I can do with them. ;-)
