August 8th, 2011Achy, Flaky

Brrr…it’s really cold in here. Inside the house, it’s doubly cold. It’s the later part of winter in this part of the globe. And it’s still cold to me, who is not used to this kind of season. But at least there’s no snow. And there’s still the sun.  That’s why I like to go out, have a little walk just to be out in the sun. Come to think of it, I’m contemplating on learning to mow the lawn just so I have the reason to be out under the sun longer.

Anyway, the temp makes me wonder how much colder it will get here during the first few months of winter. Ohhh. And speaking of the cold, the skin on my nose is flaking. I’m putting on my moisturizer everyday plus Nivea baby Nutri Sensitive Milk Lotion to moisturize my face, but it seems that part of my nose still gets dry and flaky. Maybe I’ll try Cetaphil this week and we’ll see.

Oh btw, spring is coming soon. Happy thing. That thought is really making me excited.

August 7th, 2011Guessing Game

So I’m here and there’s not much to do. Really. And that is kinda new to me, since at home, with the kids and all,  I could barely get an hour of “me time.”

Anyway, here I am with nothing else to do but be online. So I’ve been thinking of a guessing game. To my family reading this, how about a guessing game? Just pm me the answer and if you get it right, I’ll send you a prize, which for now I’m still thinking. So okay? Here we go.

Guess: which one of these towels am I using at the moment?

Is it the brown, the cream or the tan towel? PM me and I’ll get back to you when you get the right guess.

August 6th, 2011Am here, but…

After eight or so hours flight, I’m already logged on to the Internet, here in Oz. :-) Thanks God for a safe flight and thanks God to friends who are willing to let me stay in their home for a while.

Now, however much I wanted to, I don’t think I can stay long online, even just to view monster hdmi cables for a minute, because  my battery’s about to get drained. Reason is, I don’t have the right plug on my laptop’s charger. Nor did I bring an adapter/converter (I’m just not aware that Oz have different sockets).

Photobucket

Lookie, lookie, here’s how their sockets look like.

So I think, tomorrow, first thing I’d do is to look for an adapter/converter that will get my charger working and hence, allow me to be online 27/7. Lol

August 2nd, 2011Leaving Soon

At the moment, I feel like singing the song Leaving On A Jetplane  by John Denver. *smiles*

All my bags are packed, I’m ready to go…. ‘Coz I’m leaving on a jetplane. Don’t know when I’ll be back again…

That song rings some truth for me —although my bags are not packed for finality, I’ve been packing and unpacking for the nth time already. But I’ll be leaving home soon and I really don’t know when I’ll be back, although I’m praying in three years time I can come and visit my folks. *fingers crossed* And I’m praying too that my family will have a  good future  in Oz.

July 27th, 2011Gotta Learn Something

I’ve encounted the term mortgage life insurance and my curiosity was piqued. First, I’m not really sure what it means. Okay, I understand what “mortgage” is and I know what “life insurance” means but altogether, I couldn’t really be sure what it all means. Dya know what that means?

Anyway, I’m getting my fingers off this keypad at this moment and just read to find out what it really is. Ciao for now.

July 26th, 2011For Everyone

Ever thinking of giving someone —could be your friend, officemate or loved ones— a personalized gift which they can really use?

I can think of many things to give at the moment—from personalized mugs to pillows, doormat to quilts, frames to longjohns for the baby— thanks to this lovely site called PersonalCreations. Actually, you can see for yourself what I’m talking about by visiting their site. I’m quite sure you’ll see some ideal gift that you can give whatever the occasion is.

July 20th, 2011Her Cake

So my daughter celebrated her very first birthday last Sunday. It’s a happy event (although my daughter seem to not like seeing unfamiliar people and was crying); nevertheless, it’s good to see our friends and relatives who joined us that day.

Anyway, I just wanted to say how much I love her cake—it’s from Goldilocks. Looks nice ey?

This was not the design we first chose (it was unavailable), but I like the finish product. And I love the yummy moist chocolate cake under the layer of icing. I have to say that this cake is worth every penny that I paid for.

July 17th, 2011Money, money, money

Need money. But how can one avail of a payday loan when one is jobless? But I’m praying I get a job soon — in Oz.

It’s tough to have no job and to have no income. Really hard when you are spending everyday and nothing coming in. At the moment, only the hubster is putting money in our wallets and I’m not used to that. I’ve been too independent eversince and I don’t feel comfortable spending someone else’s money other than my own (income). Yes, even if it is coming from my husband. So I’m really praying that I land a job quickly —when I’m in Oz. *eyes to Heaven and crossing fingers*

And off I’ll work on my CV now.

July 16th, 2011Haaay, haay naku

What a jarring experience. I’ve just been involved with a vehicular accident. The second vehicle  is a motorcycle, with registration expired (I was driving our sedan).

The only good thing I can see from the experience is that nothing serious happened to the motorcycle who was not using a helmet at the time of the accident, and who only sustained a wound on his elbow.

Technically speaking, the motorcycle driver is at fault because he didn’t stop when a PUJ ahead of him stopped and tried to maneuver to the left. He proceeded to go left too. So running at the fast line, the car I was driving hit his motor with my right side mirror. Argh.I got so mad, but I’m surprised at how cool I was while I dealt with the other vehicle’s passenger. *sigh* Have too rest and get myself relaxed muna.

July 15th, 2011Looking forward

The hubster will be coming home tomorrow and I am excited. My son is excited too. Actually, the hubster will be home for 4 days, in time for our daughter’s first birthday.

And I wish that while he’s here, we can do family bonding activities such as camping or rafting (although we cannot bring our daughter for the latter). My son has been egging us to go camping or rafting and I also would like to experience these activities before I leave for Oz. There’s a nice place, just about an hour drive away from our place that I’d like to try. So I’m crossing my fingers.
