February 27th, 2011More Cerelac

:-) I’ve been to the grocery the other day and I added 2 more variants of Cerelac in my baby’s list of dry cereal. These are: Banana and Wheat and the MIxed Vegetable and Soya. I have not tried giving these to my daughter but I hope she’ll like it. I have a feeling she will like it.

February 20th, 2011Daughter Loves Cerelac

I’m very much for organic and homemade food and so much more for my baby (babies).  If I have the time, I’ll just give my baby all organic and homemade food. Sadly, I have also other things to attend to so I sometimes give her cereals available in the market. Actually, this cereal produc has long been available in the market. Come to think of it, when we were young, we also ate this one.

CERELAC by Nestle. I bought Soya and Milk in the grocery and have dear daughter try eat. Guess what, she love it so much. I also bought Brown Rice and Milk variant and she also like it. Surprising for me, because unlike my daughter,  my firstborn didn’t have the appetite for Cerelac in his time. I really wonder. Now should I ask why from the expert? Peeps holding medical jobs, any idea? Hah, there’s really no accounting for taste. Though it’s really not an issue, maybe in our next pedia visit, I’m gonna ask her doctor. ;-)

January 8th, 2011In the hope of trimming down

Little sister is so desperate to lose weight that she’s almost not eating anymore. She’s really worried that she’d be walking down the aisle all bloated and blown up (if you can imagine). Que horror.

But so desperate and worried is she that I decided to send her the link to top 10 diet pills. The decision would be up to her now, if ever she’d resort to that kind of losing weight. I have offered her another way too —and that is to dutifully rock my daughter everytime she needs rocking. ;-)But honestly, I did.

September 23rd, 2010Cutesy Socks-y

I’ve never thought of socks to be oh so cute. But I guess I’ve never found one that merits my saying so. Not until I found these:

Photobucket Pretty moms, before you worry on motorhome repairs, you’ve gotta look at these socks that look like mary janes, ballet shoes!  Cute, cute ey?

And I’m gonna call these things shocks. ;-)

So why bother buying shoes, if I can get my little one to wear these. It’s a much cheaper alternative, not to mention fashionable, too.

August 30th, 2010Forgetful Mama

Tsk. tsk. That’s what I am.

Maybe I’m just too preoccupied with some things that’s why I keep on forgetting  about  little things that are important too. For example, I forgot to have my daughter’s ears pierced during our recent visit to the doctor. Then, I forgot to get her a cake on her baptism. Recently, I forgot a couple of my friends birthdays. Shucks, what a disaster. Now I owe this people a lot of peace offerings. I might need to buy wholesale jewelry for present.

Haay. At the rate I’m going, I guess I should be taking Memo Plus Gold na. Have you tried it?

August 23rd, 2010Avon Baby

It was dear daughter’s christening yesterday, so before anything else Mama just wants to greet her again. Welcome to the Christian world, my princess. May you grow up healthy, smart and faithful to the Lord.

With DD’s baptism, we had a small celebration with our relatives and friends after the church ceremony. It really was a happy event (I just wished my inlaws could be there to celebrate with us). Anyway, our princess got lots of presents and one of those packages contains these Avon Baby products that will be launched in September.

Soothing Oil. Moisturizing Lotion. Wash and Shampoo.

Looks like they are great products and I can’t wait to try them. Yes, I will have to try them first before they touches my kids. :-)

August 5th, 2010Huggies for now

Before I check an online auction, here’s my post for the day.

With the new baby, new items are now added on my regular grocery list. One of these is the diaper. Okay, I have bought some cloth diapers prior to the baby’s birth but I still buy the disposable ones for reason of convenience. And if it’s disposable, the  only brand I trust is EQ (dry), which  I have used  with my first born. That said,  it’s just a bit disappointing to see that the EQ Dry for newborn doesn’t perfectly fit my baby. Now that is really a little issue and I could forget about that…but because of that, I got curious with the fit of newborn diapers from other brands.

And so I bought newborn diapers from Huggies and Pampers. And this I found out: Huggies is a much better fit compared with the other two brands. This is because the Huggies NB diaper are designed for babies weighing 4kg and below. Among the three, Pampers has the biggest NB diaper, although like EQ, their NB diapers should fit 5-kg and below babies (according to label).

March 14th, 2010Indigo: Jar of Love

If there’s a Jar of Hope, the Indigomanila line of natural products also has a Jar of Love.  A healing balm made of pure Peppermint essential oils, the Jar of Love, according to its label, is good for cough, colds, flu, fever, motion sickness and body aches. It can also be used as massaging balm.

Yup, I have tried it during cough and colds episodes (of Matt and me)  and I can very well say it is effective in helping alleviate the symptoms of flu.  It certainly helps relieve clogged nose. And because of its cool minty scent, I find it  soothing and relaxing. I will also admit now that I’ve tried using it like an eye cream to feel the wonders of peppermint. Oh I’m not really sure I can use it like a wrinkle eye cream since it contains Vitamin E but it still feels okay to me. It’s not as soothing and cooling as the Jar of Hope though but I think I can use it as a wake-upper. :-)

Cold rub? If I ever need a loving rub, or a cold rub, there’s only one for me (or my son or my husband)  now- it’s the Jar of Love.  I actually bring it almost everywhere I go, including the office or the beach. And like the Jar of Hope or any Indogomanila products I have tried, it is 100% natural so I don’t really need to worry.

Ingredients: Peppermint pure essential oils, Apricot kernel, Jojoba oil, pure beeswax, triple distilled water, Vitamin E

My rating: 5 (like the Jar of Hope).

March 11th, 2010Thank You, Kumon!

Photobucket “Mom, I love to color!” My son said to me as I was preparing for work, much to my surprise. I never really imagined to hear those sweet words. I actually didn’t imagine to hear this from my son because some months ago, he would plainly refuse to work on a coloring book. As in “strongly” refused.

But thanks to a Kumon book for coloring for changing all that. This book at the left side was his first coloring book by Kumon which he instantly love browsing (at first). When I encouraged him to color it, there was no refusal heard from him.

Like other Kumon books, My Book of Coloring AT THE ZOO is jampacked with fun, fun illustrations which are age-appropriate. The book also help enhance you kid’s basic pencil control skills. The activity on every page is designed in a way that  kids will thoroughly enjoy them so that they will have fun while learning as well as to keep parents from reaching for their best wrinkle serum due to their child’s refusal to engage in a coloring activity. :-) Lol.

Oh well, isn’t learning supposed to be fun and not frustrating? As a parent, and one that patronizes Kumon books, I can attest that this thought is at the core of every Kumon books’ design. These books are truly a treasure ;-)

March 9th, 2010Indigo: Jar of Hope

Photobucket

Don’t be deceived into thinking that this product is only for babies, because the Jar of Hope is certainly not.

According to label, this product can be applied on insect bites, inflammation, rashes, cuts, wounds, chicken pox, diaper rash, baby acne (and for me, adult acne too!) and sore nipples. It may also be used to help relieve burnout, stress, motion sickness. Then, I have read of mothers using this gel, as it is 100% natural, to soothe the gums of their teething babies.

Apart from that, I have read testimonials about adults who, like me, put it on their zits. True, it doesn’t magically let those pimples disappear in record time but it does help in relieving their redness. In my case, I noticed that they help my pimples get dry. And right now, with me pregnant, this is the only skin treatment product that I use on myself as I trust that this is an all-natural gel.

For my tot, I use it on his bruises, scrapes and insect bites a lot. In fact, if there’s one Indigo product that I most use on him, this is it. My son, who doesn’t like smelling mentholated creams and gels, has no problem “accepting this product” and he likes it so much he applies this on his skin himself, even demands to at times (even if there’s no need to). I reckon that it must be because the gel has cooling ffect on the skin that he loves (as advised I store it in the fridge to maintain its freshness). Oh well, Aloe Vera certainly cools and soothes the skin.

Among the IndigoManila products that I’ve tried, this one smells differently. It doesn’t have any lavender scent to it (and you’ll know why in latter part of this post, the ingredients) but has a yummy smells faint apple scent that I instantly love.

Ingredients: Blue Chamomile Essential oil, aloe vera gel, witch hazel extract, triple distilled water, vitamin E

Lastly, because of its all-around purpose and use and its healing properties, I give it my highest rate -a 5!
