July 6th, 2011One Shot A Day

I’ve promised myself to take one photo a day  this month, before I leave for the “greener pasture.” Nothing extraordinary, but it’s just a personal project to take shots of the simple things that would remind me of this month. I’m still trying with diferrent subject every day and so far I’ve fairly made some shots although I have not done so daily in the past few days.

But yes, I’m trying. It’s just that sometimes I feel like I just want to use a point-and-shot just like the Exilim EX-H20G for this personal project. I’m having a bit difficulty with my DSLR at times  due to its bulk. Since I’m always on the go, the weight and size just get in the way sometimes. Nonetheless, I hope to accomplish this self-imposed task before I leave home.

January 17th, 2010Photofunia

Want to tweak your photo in a flash? Go visit photofunia.com. It’s an online site where you can get easy and fun edits with your photo, and quickly at that.  You simply upload a photo, choose the treatment or style you want and voila!

I have yet to try other sites that offer the same fun stuff so I cannot make comparison but I’m quite satisfied with the instant post-processing I can get from Photfunia.

That’s my short review for now, off to read some anti aging product reviews.

October 1st, 2009MPH Poolside

Just thought of sharing a pic of the pool of Marco Polo Hotel in Davao City. I totally love the lighting of the place, courtesy of those underwater lights setup in the pool. Love how the light changes every now and how it illuminates the pool area, making it look magical.

Forgive me if I didn’t do justice with all that. I would have preferred to take one of those long exposure shots but I unwittingly forgot to bring my tripod so I just made do with what I had then. *smile*

Speaking of photos, I have the opportunity to view sample photos made by a Naples photographer, and I’m inspired. The wedding pics are awesome!

September 12th, 2009New Lens

I have recently added a great lens to my limited camera accessories. I would have loved to review this lens but I feel I’m not an expert (yet! hehe) in the topic of photography so I’ll reserve the technical review to the experts but in my succeeding posts, I’ll just have to incorporate few shots (taken with it) with my reviews.

During the first few days of using it, I will not lie that I had doubted my sanity in purchasing it despite the great results I have achieved in my photos. I even considered seIling it. First, because it’s so heavy. For a petite woman like me, you have to understand that my arms can only bear so much weight. Second, I have paid a handsome price for this lens. I mean, I could have bought 2 lenses with the same amount.  Still have no idea with the price? Maybe it would equate to almost the cost of hiring one of those cross country moving companies. See? Expensive. *sigh* But now, I have come to terms with the decision. I feel that I did right. And I’m really happy with my photos using this lens.

Now if you’re wondering what it is, it’s a Canon 24-70mm 2.8L lens and yes, I am loving it now. I’m still trying to get used to its weight but I’m slowly seeing it as more than just a lens. It’s going to be my buddy :-)
