July 2nd, 2010Calmoseptine Ointment

My son’s doctor recommended Calmoseptine Ointment (Zinc Oxide plus Calamine) for us to use on him  when he gets those itchy things on his neck. Prickly heat it was, the doctor said.

But when we bought the ointment, we found out it’s not only good for prickly heat. Calmoseptine, “a multipurpose moisture barrier ointment which protects, soothes, and helps promote healing,” is also ideal for skin irritations caused by urine (diaper rash), perspiration, wound, impetigo, minor burns, cuts, scrapes, chafing, hemorrhoids, fungus infection, allergic rashes… Very effective in managing/relieving skin itching, it could also be used as treatment for eczema. We’ve been using it in insect bites and pimples too.

If it was hate at first try with the Ilog Maria Propolis Toothpowder, it was love at first use with the Ilog Maria Honeymilk Lotion.  Oh well, how can I not love it when it effectively makes my skin soft and  supple. Also, unlike the toothpowder, its scent is fresh and light.

The consistency of the lotion, however, is a bit watery  but that’s no big deal for since it is really good in keeping my skin moisturized. And then because it is made of all natural ingredients which are as follows: royal jelly, honey, beeswax, propolis and natural flower, herb and seed oils, I don’t really worry much about getting in contact with unwanted chemicals.

July 5th, 2009Pearly Skin by Olay

I honestly have no particular thing to review today. Actually, I wanted to do a review about a bakeshop but I haven’t processed the picture that will go with it…so I’m kinda stumped. And sleepy.  I’ve been thinking of sleep since I first sat on this chair! So while browsing a site that offers pearl jewelry I thought, sleep I will have to do in the next few minutes and I will have to do my Olay routine before doing that.

Ah Olay. I did think Olay. So I guess that will have to be the topic of this post. Aside from their soap and body wash, my skin loves Olay Total Effects Normal. It’s been a part of my nighttime routine for a couple of months now. With SPF15, it can be used during daytime too (although I much prefer to put it on at night).

And I hope it’s not just my imagination *lol* but I feel it’s making my skin smoother and finer.  I just can’t be too sure if it’s really effective on the wrinkles because I still don’t have that (I hope!) at the moment. But it does seem to work on my moisturizing and keeping my skin zit-free. Plus, plus it’s affordable. And  then  here’s the part that amazes me. I really don’t know why but unlike the Gentle variant which terribly makes my head ache because of its smell, the Normal variant doesn’t bother me that much.
